Hi, I'm Allie!

I am the photographer behind the lens of Allie Idrac.

I have been a Chicago wedding and family photographer since 2017. I have backgrounds in both fine art and editorial and I love pairing that expertise with real people and moments creating images that are as aesthetically beautiful as they are real and meaningful. My style is equal parts editorial and documentary with a fine art influence.

With a decade of experience capturing hundreds of couples and families, you can trust that you will have a great time and love your photos!

I’m from New Orleans and I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in photography from Louisiana State University. My thesis work titled (Trans)cend was a series that featured portraits of transgender individuals in southern Louisiana to raise awareness of the issues that disproportionately affect the transgender community.

After graduating, I entered the world of editorial photography and covered food, style, and human interest stories for 225 Magazine. Upon moving to Chicago in 2017, I went all in with weddings and family photography and never looked back. What an amazing adventure it has been!

Being a photographer in Chicago is the coolest. Every day I get to meet new people and photograph them amongst the most beautiful architecture and rich culture that is so uniquely Chicago.

Getting married has really informed my role as a wedding photographer. The biggest thing I took away from my own wedding experience was the importance of support and positivity. I was so grateful to everyone who surrounded us with both and made it the best day of our lives. Above all things, I always strive to create that same environment around my couples.

Our Family

I am a mom to three amazing kids, Eloise, Arlo and Liam! Something cool about Eloise and Arlo is that they are both Deaf! We have been learning American Sign Language as a family since 2020 after Eloise was born and we are very proud that our kids are a part of the Deaf community.

I love following other families through their annual photos year after year and because I am a mom, it has really given me an appreciation for those small moments that you want to just bottle up and hold onto.

Our Best Day

I married my best friend, Victor, in May 2019 in New Orleans and it was everything we could have ever dreamed it would be.
