Wedding at Osteria Via Stato

Osteria Via Stato | Ida + James | July 19, 2025

the story of this wedding

This Italian restaurant wedding is the most Chicago experience one can have on their wedding day and when I say that, I am talking about Midwest kindness. As soon as Ida and James stepped out of the hotel so many people stopped to congratulate them on their marriage. Some nice girls even stopped to take a polaroid and gifted it to them. I really enjoy the rich colors of Ida’s bouquet and cream gown that led to a moodier feel. The burgundy flowers in Ida’s bouquet perfectly matched the el train beams- am I Wes Anderson? No, but sometimes things work out serendipitously and I’ll take it. The restaurant itself is very dimly lit so it was a great opportunity to create light with my flashes in a way that lit the space while still lending to the feeling of romantic and cozy.
