Betsy and Britt were married at The Royal Sonesta Chicago Downtown Hotel. This wedding had a clean and minimalist aesthetic with accents of French blue. They were married on the roof which has sweeping panoramic views of the Chicago river. The reception had a jam-packed dance floor with a live band.

Julie and Kelsey were married at Firehouse Chicago on the most beautiful summer August day.

Kristin and Elibe were married at The Joinery. A relative performed the Nigerian wedding tradition of cracking the kola nut to bless the marriage with unity, peace and prosperity. Kristin and Elibe’s smiles and laughter are so infectious and their joy radiated all day.

In a place that could be set in the literary classic The Secret Garden, Mimi and Bert were married at the Pilsen Secret Garden. This bricked former convent looks lost to time, covered in vines and overgrown plants. The day was very rainy and not ideal for an outdoor wedding but it was no matter to Mimi and Bert.

“Eve and Sam were married in their own backyard. They had a intimate and heartfelt Jewish ceremony and included so many family heirlooms in their day and special details such as cherished rings from grandparents, the aisle rug was was woven by Eve’s grandmother and Eve’s dress had embroidered details on her dress which included a portrait of their dog Porkchop.

After the ceremony, friends and family gathered at Elske in West Loop which has a very well deserved Michelin star. At the end of the night, after toasts and cake cutting, Eve and Sam shared s’mores by the hearth.” - Chi Thee Wed

The floral design was insane! Flowers dripped off of every surface, billowing off tables. A huge canopy was hung over the head table. The room was also filled with candlelight illuminating dinner in a soft glow. A live band made for a very fun dance floor!

Izzie and Caleb were married at their Church and then celebrated at the Chicago Cultural Center on a rainy day in March.

Melanie and Michael had an intimate ceremony in their Logan Square apartment planned for their friends and family later that evening. They love all things midcentury modern and wanted fun and retro inspired photos to commemorate the day before the festivities began.

Emily and Andres were married on the coldest day in January at Lacuna Lofts. They took the trolly around the city for some chilly photos and then were married in a ceremony on the top floor of the lofts. For their couple session they used the vibrant and colorful pop art murals on the bottom floor. My favorite mural is the one with the honey bears.

Beginning in the art deco hotel, The Robey, Meg and Jordan prepared for their wedding day with their best friends. They designed their gorgeous green retro stationary suite including the diner matchboxes to encapsulate their love for diner nostalgia. They took a trolley to the Pink Squirrel for pre-ceremony drinks with friends. They had their ceremony and reception at Revolution Brewing.

They arrived at Firehouse and had an after dark ceremony and then a fun Halloween eve reception.

Horror movie lovers, Kristin and Jeremy, were married at the historic and haunted Creole Gardens in New Orleans. This spooky Halloween wedding was complete with a mausoleum wedding cake, horror movies projected on the wall and a Lucky Dog hot dog cart.

In 2021, my grandparents were celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary.

Emily and Alec drew “the lovers” when they found each other, fell in love and had their spooky and dark academia inspired wedding at Firehouse Chicago.

This wedding was originally scheduled the very week the world shut down in 2020. We had already done our walkthrough a few days prior when the wedding was cancelled so it was actually so sad for this couple how close they were to walking down the aisle only to be halted moments before by a global pandemic. Liz and Ryan definitely made up for the disappointment by having a huge blowout party at Logan Square Auditorium with all their friends and family a year and a half later.

Like the early twentieth century British drama Downton Abbey, the historic wood paneled library where Loren and Taylor were married felt like stepping into the show and another time altogether.

Jess and Brian started their day in West Loop at The Hoxton. They had their first look and couple session with views of the industrial brick lined blocks and el train. Before heading to the ceremony at Bridge410, they shared a drink at The Hoxton bar. Bridge 410 has a really cool feature with views of the defunct Paulina Street Bridge.

Lexi and Kyle are such a fun loving, energetic couple who truly wear their hearts out loud for each other. This day was equal parts tear-filled and silly with so much warm energy in the room that was palpable, for each other and their friends and family.
